Saffy’s Second Adventure by Esther Moonstomp

I feel honoured to be part of Esther Chiltern’s blog tour promoting her second children’s book, Myths and Magic, which is part of Saffy’s Secret Quest series (written the name of Esther Moonstomp).
The first book was a delight and my great-nieces (and I) thoroughly enjoyed it.
Esther runs the Let’s Write group I belong to with the Writers Bureau and I can honestly say that this group, under Esther’s leadership, has given me inspiration for and amazing help with my own writing.
Over to Esther for more about Saffy’s new adventure.

I’m delighted to be with Janice today on stop six of my blog tour. I’m indebted to everyone who is part of the tour. As any author knows, it’s hard to get people to know about your books are even there.

The book I’m promoting is my second children’s book, Myths and Magic, which is due out on 28th May. It’s part of the Saffy’s Secret Quest Series, written for 5-7 year olds. The Secret Dragon was the first in the series. Here’s a little bit more about book two:

The Blurb

Saffy has solved the first clue in her quest to save the magical world of Mandoreum from danger. Now it’s time to find the second.

She isn’t alone. Her new friend, Lily, a dragon from Mandoreum, wants to help. Together they take a trip and uncover special stories and unexpected surprises.

But Saffy soon learns that first appearances are not always what they seem. And plotting in the background is a witch who will do everything she can to stop them…

Extract:

“Have you taken my eggs, Saffy?” an annoyed voice shouted from the landing.

Saffy hid Lily behind her back as Harry appeared in the doorway. Eggs? What eggs? she wondered, and then it came to her. “Oh, you mean those dinosaur eggs that are full of slime.”

“They’re not dinosaur eggs, they’re dragon eggs,” Harry said, sulkily, folding his arms.

Dragon eggs! It had to be a clue. All of them were to do with dragons but, now she thought about it, eggs weren’t included in the list of clues so it couldn’t be one. She sighed. “No, I haven’t seen them.”

“What are you hiding behind your back, then?” Harry said, walking towards her.

“Saffy! Harry! Come on, you two,” Mum called from downstairs.

“You’d better not have them.” Harry wagged his finger at her and stalked out the room.

Saffy blew out a breath of relief and sat down on the bed. She placed Lily on her lap.

An orange ball of fluff jumped onto the bed and started rubbing round her.

“Hello, Jasper.” Saffy smiled at the cat, who was purring loudly, and held the little dragon out of the way.

“What’s that?” Lily said, leaning over to see.

“It’s our cat, Jasper. Stop wriggling, Lily, you’ll fall.” Saffy tried to hold on to her, but she could feel the dragon slipping through her fingers. “Oh no!”
